These machines are home made and they and one other have evolved from regular upgrades to what started as an old 8088. The upgrades took it to the 386 stage in time for the Fall 93 Yggdrasil release of Linux, and are still continuing slowly.
Both machines are Microsoft free, with Snaffles running Linux only, and Pelham running either Linux or FreeBSD.
Pelham is my X and print server, provides the console for Snaffles in an xterm
and has my Hauppauge TV card. Snaffles, having the modem, is my internet
machine and innd server. It also controls my lights when I go away with a
TW532S10 (serial port X10 controller), cron and some X10 light/socket switches.
